Hi, I'm Emily Forgash

I got started in journalism as a Photo Editor on my middle school's publication The Scroll in Grade 8. The 2016 JEA/NSPA journalism convention in Indiana was a distinct turning point for me. The conference hall filled with motivated, determined, and hardworking students journalists lit a fire under me that has only grown stronger.

Journalism is the bedrock of democracy, and it has the power to change the course of history and drastically expand perspectives. It's my passion and what I hope to pursue in the future.

This portfolio was made for the 2021 JEA Journalist of the Year competition during my time as Editor-in-Chief of The Standard. Use the squares below or the sidebar on the left to navigate to different pages of my portfolio. Thank you for taking the time to view my work.
